Manipal Health is part of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG). It delivers a wide range of healthcare services from outpatient consultations to advanced specialized treatments and complex surgeries through its 49 hospitals across 24 cities.
For medium- to long-term investment, this IPO might be a good fit. Overall, investors should carefully evaluate the company’s fundamentals, strengths, risks, and growth prospects before making any investment decision.
Strengths:
- Manipal Health is India’s largest multispecialty hospital with a capacity of 13,037 beds, pan-India presence across 14 states and Union Territories, and market leadership in three key regions.
- Manipal Hospitals is the only private hospital chain network in India with a strong presence in three metros (Bengaluru, Kolkata and Pune).
- It is the number 1 choice for doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals serving 6.30 million patients in FY26.
- The hospital is backed by advanced medical infrastructure and technologies that ensure clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and scalability.
Weaknesses:
- 19 hospitals of Manipal Health are located in Karnataka. Meaning, 46.40% of the revenue comes from the hospitals located in Karnataka. Loss of patients or any interruption that takes place in Karnataka can adversely impact the business and cash flow.
- The firm generates 64.45% of its revenue from providing inpatient care. Not being able to maintain or increase the number of patients admitted or keep hospital beds occupied can badly affect the business.
- In FY26, the firm earns most of its revenue from cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, gastro sciences, orthopaedics, and renal sciences (“CONGO-R”) specialties. If demand for these treatment decrease can negatively impact the business and cash flow.
- The brand’s success depends on its reputation. Any negative publicity or allegation against them in the media may affect the trust in their services, which can badly impact the business and its operations.
