Tata Capital Files Confidential DRHP for an IPO, worth over ₹15,000 Crores

Tata Capital Limited, a financial services company, has decided to take a big step towards launching its IPO by filing its confidential DRHP with the market regulator SEBI, worth over ₹15,000 crore. 

According to the sources, on April 4, 2025, the company submitted its draft papers to SEBI with a face value of Rs.10 each.

The confidential DRHP filing to the stock exchange said that the IPO comprises a mixture of both fresh issues of 2.3 crore equity shares and an offer for sale by some existing shareholders. 

By September 2025, the Tata capitals identified as Upper-layer NBFCs must list their shares as per the RBI’s rule.

After Tata Technologies launched its IPO in November 2023, Tata Capital will be one of the biggest IPOs in India of the Tata Group. 

In FY24, Tata Capital generated revenue of ₹18,178 crore from operations, increasing its revenue by 34% if we compare it to FY23. 

In FY24, Tata Capital earned ₹18,178 crore in revenue, which is a 34% increase compared to FY23.

The company has lent out over ₹1 lakh crore of loans, which has increased by 40% compared to last year. Additionally, the company made an amazing profit of ₹3,150 crore from the loan offering. 

With a 21% increase in profit to ₹1,825 crore in the first half of the current fiscal year, Tata Capital continued to grow.

Tata Capital is an Upper-layer non-banking financial company (NBFC) that offers a diverse range of financial services to retail, corporate, and institutional customers. Tata Capital Ltd is a subsidiary of Tata Sons Private Ltd, which owns 92.83 shares of Tata Capital, whereas the remaining shares of the Tata Companies shares are held by Tata Sons as well as other Tata group companies. The company consists of over 723 branches across the country.
