Maharashtra Apex Corporation Ltd was started in 1943 by Upendra Anantha Pai. It was first incorporated as Maharashtra Apex Bank Ltd. The company is based in Manipal, and it is part of the Manipal Group.
It is one of the old Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) in India. In the past, the company mainly worked in hire purchase, leasing, and automobile financing. Today, the company is mainly focused on recovering its assets and repaying its liabilities.
This includes paying back outstanding deposits and bonds under a court-approved repayment scheme. Because of this process, the company is now almost debt-free.
