Is the Market Open on February 1, 2025, Budget Day? If Yes, Why?

Yes! The market will stay open on Saturday 1 February 2025, providing inventors an opportunity for a special trading session on Union Budget 2025. On Monday confirmed by the stock exchanges NSE and BSE, the stock market will remain open for its usual period from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM during which investors can trade how they trade on the normal days.

As we all know, in India Stock market is usually closed for trading on weekends like Saturdays and Sundays unless there is some special occasion. As Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman will present budget 2025 on Saturday 1st February 2025, due to that special Occasion stock market will be going to stay open for trading for their usual time.

Just like how the market was open on February 1, 2020, and February 28, 2015, during the occasion of the union budget, this time too the market will be open for usual trading.

As usual, the investors can also do premarket trading on Saturday 1 from the time of 9:00 am to 9:08 am, whereas commodity derivatives trading will be open until 5:00 PM.

Through the Union Budget 2025, Investors can analyze the future possibilities for investment and market sentiment. Individuals and investors are hoping that through this budget the government will take the initiative to make some changes to India’s economic growth such as changes in taxes, business support, and economic growth.

On Saturday 1, Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman will submit the Union Budget 2025 which investors are eagerly anticipating with the expectation of helping India grow, hoping the new policy will cause a big fluctuation in the market. Before, the day of presenting the Union Budget was scheduled for the last working day of February 1. However, in 2017, that was changed to February 1 by the Finance Minister. And that’s why from that year the budget started to be presented on February 1 every year.
