Tariff Announcements:
Today can be a major day in the stock market, as U.S. President Mr. Donald Trump is announcing the reciprocal tariff on April 2, at 4 PM. The tariff is set to be announced in the White House Rose Garden for India and various countries. The reason for announcing the reciprocal tariff is to stop other countries from putting unnecessary taxes on U.S. products. According to the U.S. president, this step will help the US grow. He said the tax on important goods will be implemented right away, while the tax on automobiles will be implemented as of April 3. The tariff announcement on April 2 will be known as Liberation Day, according to Mr. Trump.
RBI Monetary Policy:
RBI Reserve Bank of India is set to cut the interest rates in the April 7-9 meeting monetary policy committee. This will be to first monetary policy of FY26. In February 2025, monetary policy, Sanjay Malhotra, the current governor, cut down its repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25%
In February, the inflation rate in India was down to 3.61%. This step was taken by the RBI to slow down inflation, and the economy needs support to grow.

If we talk about the inflation rate in India, in February, the inflation rate fell to 3.61%, compared to January, the inflation rate was down to 4.31%, indicating the inflation rate has been falling since October 2024 to 6.21%. In February, the inflation in food was down to 3.75%, which was 5.97% in January. In February, the Prices of vegetables were down to -1.07%, compared to 11.35% in January. But, the core inflation in February grew higher to 4.08% if we compared it to January, the inflation rate was 3.70%. The slowdown in the inflation rates indicates a good sign of a bullish market.
