The Fintech firm recently shifted its parent company from the United States to India to kick off its IPO preparation. For the shift they also paid $150 million in taxes.
Razorpay decided to file its preliminary papers via a confidential route without intending to share important business, operational, or financial details publicly yet.
The company is financially supported by major investors such as Peak XV Partners, Tiger Global Management, Ribbit Capital, TCV, Matrix Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and others.
Founded in 2014 by Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, Razorpay is one of India’s leading payment solution providers and has raised more than $741 million from major investors like GIC, Peak XV Partners, Z47, and Tiger Global.
The filing has happened where leading Fintech companies like PhonePe decided to halt their IPO preparation due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US, indicating high volatility.
According to market experts, PhonePe is targeting a valuation of around $15 billion for its IPO. The firm was allegedly planning to launch its IPO, but the ongoing conflict in West Asia caused it to pause the IPO planning for now.
