The engineered fabrics industry has been blooming recently, as Kusumgar is involved in the manufacturing of high-performance synthetic fabrics rather than usual clothing fabrics. Its engineered fabrics are designed to be used in various sectors, including the defence industry, the automotive industry, the healthcare industry, the outdoor equipment industry, the industrial safety industry, and the infrastructure industry.
For the long-term investment, this company might be good. Overall, investors should carefully evaluate the company’s fundamentals, strengths, risks, and growth prospects before making any investment decision.
Strengths:
- From 1970, the firm has manufactured over 1000 diverse types of engineered fabrics, and used its technical strength to develop Light fabrics made of fine denier yarns, the ability to handle Nylon 6 and Nylon 66, Complex fabric engineering, Coating and lamination capabilities, and an integrated fabric value chain.
- Its products cater to a wide range of industries: (i) Aerospace and Defence Fabrics; (ii) Aerospace and Defence Solutions; (iii) Industrial and Automotive Fabrics; and (iv) Outdoor and Lifestyle Fabrics.
- The firm has an established relationship with key customers, achieving around 49% of the revenue from the top 6 customers.
- Kusumgar has a track record of building strategic partnerships with leading global firms, giving them access to proprietary technologies, enhancing its credibility, and opening doors to new tenders and programs.
Weaknesses:
- Around 59% of the revenue comes from the top 10 customers. Losing any of these customers or a decrease in sales of such customers can negatively affect the business.
- All of its 6 manufacturing facilities are located in the State of Gujarat. Issues like social, political, economic, or seasonal disruption, or natural disaster occurs in these regions can badly affect the business and cash flow.
- In FY26, about 51.42% of its total material comes from its top 10 suppliers. Loss of any major supplier or an increase in prices can negatively affect the operations.
- Its competitive advantage depends on keeping its technical information confidential or protecting its patents, designs, processes, or other intellectual property. If they fail to do can adversely impact the business and financial condition.
