Wonderchef, backed by Sanjeev Kapoor, plans IPO with a ₹1800 crore valuation

Famous chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s Wonderchef is preparing to go public this year, becoming one of the latest publicly traded companies to launch its IPO, participating in the growing number of companies that are anticipating entering the IPO market.

Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, co-founder of Wonderchef, is planning to go public soon, with a valuation of approximately ₹1,800 crore (around $200 million). Previously, the company decided on the valuation of $100 million, which we saw as a significant increase from its last valuation.

According to Inc42, the Wonderchef IPO will consist of an offer-for-sale component, providing an exit opportunity for existing investors. Right now, the company is still at the early stages of discussion and might make some changes to the plan.

The company Wonderchef might submit its draft papers with SEBI by mid-June if everything goes according to plan, and we can expect the company to launch its IPO by November-December this year, hopefully. 

As per the sources, Wonderchef hasn’t replied to the questions on its IPO plans as of now. In FY25, the company generated a revenue of ₹800 crore, compared to FY24, where the company generated a revenue of ₹378 crore, almost double the revenue, showcasing the potential growth of the company.

In FY23, the company resulted in a loss of ₹51.83 crore, whereas in FY24, the company generated a profit of ₹1.5 crore, respectively. 

Incorporated in 2009, Wonderchef was founded by Kapoor and Ravi Saxena, and is one of the famous cookware and kitchen appliances that help customers to cook food easily with conveniently. The company’s portfolio consists of various products such as Non-Stick Cookware, Stainless Steel Pans, Pressure Cookers, Appliances, Cooktops, Chimneys, Kitchen Tools, Flasks, and Bakeware. What’s so unique about Wonderchef is that MasterChef Sanjeev Kapoor makes its own recipes for its unique products. 

Lifelong, Atomberg, and Beyond Appliances, Nuuk, are the peer companies of Wonderchef.

Sixth Sense Ventures, Amicus Capital, the Godrej Family Office, Malpani Group, and others are the investors of the company, through which the company has raised over $30 million so far.
