The company that makes water purifiers, Kent RO Systems is also deciding to launch an IPO (Initial public offering). On January 22, the company filed its draft papers to SEBI in order to launch an IPO. According to the draft papers, the founder and the chairman of the company Mahesh Gupta, joined together and planned to sell 1.01 crores in the company. As of now, Mahesh Gupta has 99.77% of ownership in the Kent RO company.
Mahesh Gupta, Sunita Gupta, and Varun Gupta are the promoters of the company. According to the report, in this IPO, Mahesh Gupta will sell one of the biggest amount of shares of rs. 5,635,088 equity shares with a face value of Rs 1 each. Sunita Gupta will sell 3,360,910 of equity shares while Varun Gupta will sell 1,098,570 of equity shares in the company. This way, the protomers are planning to sell 10% (10094568) of their ownership out of 99.77% of ownership available.
This IPO will not include any fresh issue component, it will be an entirely (OFS) Offer-for-sale component which means the funds raised through an IPO will not benefit the company itself. Incorporated in 1999, Kent RO Systems has been recognized as one of the Innovative discoverers of RO Systems technology in the water purifier. In addition to water purifiers, the company also produces vacuum cleaners and fans. The peer groups of the Kent RO water purifiers are Eureka Forbes Aquaquard, Hindustan Unilever, Luminous, and AO Smith.
Financial Status of the Company
In FY24, the Kent RO systems reported revenue increased by 8.7% reaching ₹1,178 crore. During the April-September 2024 quarter, the company recorded revenue of ₹637 crore. Most of their revenue comes from selling water purifiers. 85% of the revenue is mostly generated by the sale of Water purifiers while the remaining revenue is generated from fans and kitchen appliances. The company also produces and sells vacuum cleaners.
Investment Advisor for the RO Kent public issue is Motilal Oswal while JM Financial Limited is the book-running lead manager of the issue, and KFin Technologies is the registrar of the IPO. According to the BSE, in 2025 at least 14 companies have launched their IPO. The year 2024 was one of the active years for companies as well as investors, in 2024 Indian companies broke the record and collected 1.6 lakh crores through an IPO.
