SS Retail sells its products under 3 brands: ā€˜SS Mobile’, ā€˜Mobile Exchange Wala’, and ‘The Mobile Space’. Its product portfolio includes Mobile Phones, Pre-owned smartphones, accessories, and other electronic items. Moreover, it operates under 3 business models: COCO, COFO, and FOFO.

For medium-term investment, this IPO might be a good fit. Overall, investors should carefully evaluate the company’s fundamentals, strengths, risks, and growth prospects before deciding whether to invest.

Strengths:

  • SS Retail is the largest mobile phone retail chain in West India and in Maharashtra and the 3rd largest in India among its competitors.
  • The firm has an established track record of understanding diverse markets, especially in tier II and tier III and beyond cities.
  • It operates as a multi-brand retail chain for mobile phones, including pre-owned smartphones, and has a strong procurement system.
  • It has shown a consistent track record of financial performance and growth by generating revenue of ₹2,351.031 crore, PAT of ₹59.282 crore, and EBITDA of ₹125.149 crore in FY26.

Weaknesses:

  • As of FY26, about 86.18% of its revenue comes from selling mobile phones. Any economic slowdown or shutdown in the mobile phone industry can negatively impact the business and cash flow.
  • SS Retail mostly depends on the top 10 suppliers for 79.09% of its mobile phones, accessories, and other electronic products. Loss of any of the top suppliers or delay in the supply of any products can adversely affect its reputation, business, and financial condition.
  • The firm derives 91.05% of its revenue from its 458 stores in the state of Maharashtra. Any slowdown, shutdown, or political, social, and economic issue that arises in Maharashtra can adversely impact the business and cash flow.
