Oil refiner Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals (MRPL) soared 26.77% to Rs 80.75. It topped gainers in the BSE’s A group shares. The company, today (30 October 2007), reported 3470.90% surge in net profit to Rs 331.74 crore on 5% fall in net sales to Rs 7643.37 crore in Q2 September 2007 over Q2 September 2006.
State-run lender Bank of India spurted 17.93% to Rs 372.60 and came second among top gainers in A group. It reported 100.5% jump in net profit to Rs 425.27 crore on 39.1% rise in operating income to Rs 3503.67 crore in Q2 September 2007 over Q2 September 2006. The bank announced Q2 results yesterday, 29 October 2007.
Reliance Capital, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group, sprout 14.75% to Rs 2,127.70. It was the third biggest gainer in A group. Its net profit rose 20.4% to Rs 201.28 on 75.6% increase in operating income to Rs 391.27 in Q2 September 2007 over Q2 September 2006. The company declared the results on 25 October 2007
State-run oil refiner Chennai Petroleum Corporation rose 8.81% to Rs 344.05 and stood fourth among top gainers in A group.
State-run lender Union Bank of India rose 8.07% to Rs 174.05 and came fifth among top gainers in A group. Its net profit rose 42% to Rs 275.78 crore on 31.2% rise in operating income to Rs 2525.65 crore in Q2 September 2007 over Q2 September 2006. The bank declared the results on 24 October 2007.
