India’s HDB Financial Services, the non-banking lending arm of HDFC Bank, has filed for an initial public offering (IPO) of up to ₹12,500 crores, with a statement made by its parent company earlier this month, which includes a fresh issue of 25,00 crores with the face value of RS 10 of each. and the rest is OFS(offer for sale). This OFS will be as promoters sell their position from the ownership of around ₹10,000 crore.
HDB Financial Services will use the money raised from the IPO to meet its capital needs, mainly for providing more loans. This is also part of HDFC Bank’s plan to follow regulatory rules, which require certain non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) to be publicly listed by September 2025. HDFC Bank’s decision comes after Bajaj Housing Finance successfully went public in September 2024.
