The first Indian equities fund on the Australian sharemarket is seeking local investors before its listing.

The India Equities Fund plans to raise up to A$200 million ($227 million), with a minimum subscription of A$75 million.

Eighty per cent of the fund will be invested in large capitalisation companies and 20 per cent in mid-capitalisation companies.

India Equities is on offer until March 28 before listing on the stock exchange on April 5.
